FREMANTLE will have great memories of its last clash with the Swans, a 25-point preliminary final victory at Patersons Stadium. Apart from a poor performance against Hawthorn in round three, the Dockers have again been strong this season and are coming off an impressive 53-point triumph over Essendon. They meet a Swans outfit that is feeling some significant pressure. Losses in three of their four games to start the year leaves them well below expectations. But these Swans have plenty of pride and it would be unwise to write off their long list of champion players just yet.

THE SIX POINTS
1. Fremantle dominated last year's preliminary final, leading the disposals, hit-outs and marks in a comfortable victory.

2. In 2013, the Swans were the AFL's top team for hit-outs and clearances. This year, they have slipped to seventh in hit-outs and eighth for clearances.

3. Two traditionally strong defensive teams, the Dockers are third this year, conceding just 71 points per game. The Swans are 11th at 88 points per contest.

4. The last meeting of these sides at the SCG produced a thrilling draw. Overall, the Swans have won 10 of the 15 games against Fremantle at their home ground.

5. The contested possession battle will be key. Freo is third in the AFL with 150.5 per game, just ahead of the fourth-placed Swans (149).

6. Surprisingly, Fremantle doesn't have anyone in the top 20 of the Official AFL Player Ratings. Stephen Hill tops the Dockers at No.25. Josh Kennedy has moved up to eighth, one place behind Swans teammate Kieren Jack.

Prediction: Fremantle by two points
