FREMANTLE's premiership window won't close when Matthew Pavlich, Luke McPharlin and Aaron Sandilands retire, Dockers midfielder David Mundy says.

Pavlich, McPharlin and Sandilands are all on one-year contracts for 2015 and none of the three is guaranteed to play beyond next season.

Speaking after the Dockers' final training session before the Christmas break Mundy was adamant the club's premiership chances won't disappear once the three veterans retire.

"They've been great players for the club and have been here for a long time, obviously, but we certainly don't think once they go we're going to fall off the perch," he said.

"We've got some really good young guys coming in filling some shoes and we've seen in the last two years without Luke and Pav for extended periods, and Aaron, we've had guys come in and play their role and really fill the breach."

The Dockers completed a brutal two-and-a-half hour session in blazing 35-degree heat at Fremantle Oval on Friday morning. The players were put through an extensive football session before enduring running and physical conditioning at the end of training.

Mundy said it was a taxing session but on par with what the Dockers have been doing during this period of pre-season.

"Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays this year have been really tough," Mundy said.

"That was an extremely hard session but it's nothing out of the ordinary."

The experienced midfielder said his body was in good shape after a minor operation post-season.

The Dockers had a strong compliment of players out on the track but Nat Fyfe (shoulder), Anthony Morabito (knee), Zac Clarke (knee) and Michael Johnson (back) were notable absentees, while Michael Walters spent the entire session in the gym.

A number of Dockers are still on managed programs but there is no fear of any players being unavailable for the start of the home and away season at this stage.

Mundy said the Dockers have made some minor changes to their game plan for 2015.

"We've slightly tweaked our game plan and we're still working our way through that," Mundy said.

"We're just trying to improve and go to that next level.

"We're also trying to adapt. The game never stays the same. Next year is not going to be the same as it was this year and so we're trying to get that step ahead of the competition and always continually improving in everything that we do."
