GREATER Western Sydney will be sweating on the results of scans to co-captain Phil Davis, who did not reappear after having his right calf assessed on the bench before half-time against Carlton.

The 25-year-old is believed to have injured his calf after pushing off his opponent, Blue Levi Casboult, in an innocuous second-quarter marking contest.

Six things we learned from round 14

Fellow Giants defender Matt Buntine's game also ended prematurely with ice strapped around his right hamstring.

The 22-year-old tested his leg with some run-throughs along the interchange area during the final quarter, but the Giants opted to not risk him having already sewn up the game.

Davis and Buntine will have scans to determine the severity of their respective injuries.

Richmond ruckman Shaun Hampson walked off gingerly in the final minutes against the Brisbane Lions after landing awkwardly on his right knee at a centre bounce ruck contest.

The 28-year-old told AFL.com.au on Sunday morning he was unlikely to need a scan on his knee and was confident the injury was not serious.

Lions hard-nut onballer Mitch Robinson was left concussed after colliding into Tiger Jacob Townsend in the second term.

The 27-year-old Lion emerged from the rooms at half-time in a tracksuit top and did not return to the field.

Kangaroos midfielder Farren Ray was also forced off with concussion in the first quarter against Adelaide after being struck in the face by the ball from an Aaron Mullett kick.

Ray was put through the usual concussion tests but sat out the rest of the match.

In other injury concerns at the weekend:

- St Kilda forward Paddy McCartin was left dazed and bleeding from the nose after receiving an open hand to the face as Cat Harry Taylor went to spoil the ball in a second-quarter marking contest. McCartin started on the ground after half-time and got through the match.

- Fellow Saint David Armitage received medical treatment on his right calf in third quarter, but managed to play out the tense final term.

- Recently re-signed Docker Lachie Neale was assessed for a shoulder niggle in the third term against Collingwood, but coach Ross Lyon said it was likely to be "a stinger".

- Carlton backman Jacob Weitering was left winded in a tackle on Giant Jeremy Cameron late in the second quarter. Last year's No.1 draft pick appeared to land on Cameron's boot in the incident, but got through the second half with ease.
