GREATER Western Sydney star Toby Greene has escaped suspension for planting his boot into Luke Dahlhaus's face, with the Match Review Panel fining him for misconduct.

Greene, who was reported for rough conduct in Friday night's clash against the Western Bulldogs, was handed a fixed financial sanction of $2500, which can be reduced to $1500 with an early guilty plea.

By categorising the incident as misconduct, the MRP did not have to put the charge through the table of offences and could fine Greene at its own discretion up to $5000.

It is the fourth time the MRP has used the misconduct charge in 2017, having charged Greene under the same offence for an off-the-ball incident on North Melbourne's Sam Wright in round four.

St Kilda midfielder Jack Steven and Adelaide captain Taylor Walker have also been charged with misconduct this season for incidents that didn't fit the MRP's typical categories.

The Greene incident, which forced Dahlhaus from the ground with a cut mouth, would almost certainly have been penalised with a two-week suspension if it was classified as rough conduct.

Greene's bad record of four matches suspended this season did not impact his misconduct penalty on Monday.

Port Adelaide midfielder Ollie Wines was offered a $1000 fine for rough conduct after he collected Collingwood's Tom Langdon with a high bump on Sunday.

The MRP graded the incident as careless conduct with low impact to the head, choosing not to use its risk of serious injury provision to upgrade the impact to medium.

Western Bulldogs forward Jack Redpath has been offered two matches for striking GWS defender Phil Davis, with his bad record meaning the penalty cannot be reduced to one match.

His strike was graded intentional conduct with low impact to the head.

Gold Coast midfielder Jack Martin has been offered a $1000 fine for an off-the-ball bump on Brisbane Lions youngster Hugh McCluggage, which was graded careless conduct with low impact to the head.

Ben Howlett can accept a $1000 fine for a dangerous tackle on Adelaide defender Luke Brown that was graded careless conduct with low impact to the head.

North Melbourne ruckman Braydon Preuss has been offered a $1500 fine for striking Hawthorn's Conor Glass. The incident was graded intentional conduct with low impact to the body.
