GEELONG's quest to win its first game of the season has been dealt a blow with star forward Tom Hawkins a late withdrawal for its clash with Gold Coast at Simonds Stadium on Sunday.

Hawkins is out because of a family illness and has been replaced in the selected side by tall forward Josh Walker.

The key forward has booted four goals from his two matches this season, with the responsibility now to be heaped on Mitch Clark who will lead the Cats' attack.

Cats youngster Nakia Cockatoo is the Cats' substitute for the second week in a row.

The Suns remain unchanged and their sub is Matt Shaw.
