MALCOLM Blight will no longer be the coaching advisor at Gold Coast.

Originally employed part-time in 2012 to oversee Guy McKenna in his first senior coaching role, Blight’s position has become less crucial since Rodney Eade was hired almost 12 months ago

The two-time Adelaide premiership coach and Brownlow medallist is highly regarded at the Suns and they are exploring ways to keep him involved.

Blight is currently on the board as the football director and a valued voice at the club.

The money saved from his position will help the club's development coaching ranks.

Current academy head coach Aaron Rogers is expected to be upgraded to a full-time development role in the near future.
