A CORKED adductor ruined Adelaide veteran Scott Thompson's second game back from a lingering shoulder injury in the Crows' SANFL team's trial match against Norwood on Friday night.

Thompson, 34, was injured early in the game and only appeared intermittently in the second half. He finished with 10 disposals.

The Crows are struggling for midfield depth with Brad Crouch on the sidelines with a hamstring concern, while fringe onballer Cam Ellis-Yolmen is out for the season after rupturing the ACL in his right knee during the JLT Community Series.

Thompson hasn't played fewer than 19 games in a year since 2004, when he was at Melbourne. He has lined up in 307 matches since being drafted in 2000.

In better news for Adelaide, Jake Lever played a second straight game after his own hamstring complaint.

Lever notched up 18 disposals, six marks, four tackles and two inside-50s.

The 21-year-old has played just 36 senior games but has already established himself as a reliable key defender.

Norwood led at every change to post a comfortable 29-point victory at Coopers Stadium, 15.9 (99) to 10.10 (70).
