FREMANTLE midfielder Matt de Boer pushed his case for a finals call up with a prolific 35 disposals playing for Peel Thunder on Saturday.
De Boer was a late inclusion for injured skipper Matthew Pavlich for last week's clash against the Brisbane Lions, but found himself out of the side for the match-up against Port Adelaide.
Although seemingly out of favour, de Boer has ensured he is ready to go if Ross Lyon calls his number.
His 35 disposals also included three inside 50s.
Tom Sheridan had 24 touches, while Clancee Pearce (20) and Jonathon Griffin (22 disposals and 28 hit-outs) were also influential, despite Peel's 30-point loss to South Fremantle.
VFL
HAWTHORN midfielders Alex Woodward and Mitch Hallahan are both in line to play their part if called upon for finals after stellar performances in the VFL on Saturday.
Woodward and Hallahan's contributions for Box Hill were sensational as they went head-to-head with the seasoned Port Melbourne midfielders.
At Victoria Park, Collingwood was thoroughly outplayed by Sandringham.
Magpies-listed players Kyle Martin and Peter Yagmoor were both in their best, while Ben Kennedy and Patrick Karnezis also did some damage on the scoreboard.
The Zebras were led Kenny Ong's four goals, while Darren Minchington and Tom Simpkin (both Saints-listed players) were also among the club's best players.
*There were no AFL-listed players running around in the SANFL or NEAFL on Saturday
