Sandi's big steal

It seems incredible but Aaron Sandilands has possibly taken his game to a new level this year - oddly, in the same year where his value has been questioned. As if determined to prove a point, Freo's giant ruckman has opened up his bag of tricks and has now added Peter Daicos-esque shots at goal to his repertoire. Last week Sandi channelled his inner Polly Farmer with a 30m handball, and on Saturday against the Cats he snatched the ball from a boundary throw-in and called on his inner Daics to perform a deft dribble kick that was oh-so-close to being goal of the season.

Which brings us to the ruckman down the road who also - at times - plays like he's a grade six kid running about with the grade threes. When the Eagles big man starts running it seems like no one can lay a hand on him, as evidenced in June, 2012, by this brilliant clearance that resulted in a flying shot at goal.
